What is a Salon Event?

Salons are smaller events, keeping you engaged between our annual main events. We will have a few live speakers prepared for you with a following informal discussion about your thoughts concering the topic. Hear about what others have to say and find people with similar ideas and interests! And there will be delicious food included as well!

So go, get your ticket and we will see you soon!

Please keep in mind that the event language will be German and not English.

Bring a Book!

Statistics indicate that the average visitor to a TEDx event has an above average interest in books of all kinds. Whether these statistics really are correct, we can not say, but at least we can test them: With a book swap at our TEDxTUBerlinSalon “Shaping Berlin”!

How does it work?

Each guest brings a book to the event in addition to his ticket, which he can exchange for a different one during the event. So if you bring a book from home, you can go home with another one!

What kind of books shall I bring?

There are no fixed conditions for the books brought. However, it would be desirable to bring German or English books that dust in your bookshelf anyway, but could still inspire other readers. Whether this is your favorite fantasy novel from youth or the latest non-fiction book on high-scientific topics is up to you.

Institut für Kommunikation und Gesellschaft

Communication determines our lives, connecting people with themselves and with society. The Institute for Communication and Society combines research and funding: We offer active training, tailor-made seminars and individual coaching. In addition, the institute prepares studies on rhetoric, society and personality. This way, we combine research with mediation, so knowledge becomes impact and theory becomes practice: for individuals and the entire society alike.
